Diagnosed with a Skull Base Tumor? No need to be devastated Today's cutting edge technology makes treatment safe & minimally invasive
Skull Base Institute is first center to perform tumor dissection along with cranial nerve restitution in the same sitting
Comprehensive Skull Base Institute
BSBI is one of the nation's first center dedicated to Skull Base Surgery. BSBI physicians have led in the field in the treatment of Skull Base pathologies, training the newer generations of ENT & Neurosurgeons to learn Skull Base Surgery. Our center has performed hundreds of skull base surgeries and it involves a multi-specialty team including a skull base surgeon, neuroradiologist, neuro anesthetists, and head and neck surgeon. Our dedicated intensive care unit (ICU) offers 24/7 specialty care inside one of the nation's best hospitals. Our Skull Base Center is a national leader in skull base education and research, including minimally invasive endoscopic and robotic surgery, facial nerve preservation to avoid disfigurement from tumor removal, advanced imaging and radiation, intraoperative neuromonitoring, Image-guided surgery, and cranial nerve rehabilitation

The Skull Base Institute (SBI) is equipped with state of the art infrastructure and equipment to provide the best possible care both in diagnosis and treatment of Skull Base disorders

ADVANCED SKULL BASE DIAGNOSTIC UNIT
Our Skull Base diagnostic unit has innovative technologies that deliver superior endoscopic imaging and video, hand instruments, integrated light source, Endoscope management, camera, and stroboscopy module. The workstation helps provide optimized workflows for the examining surgeon ensuring patient comfort all the time.
HYBRID OPERATION THEATRE
This one of its kind hybrid operating room is a concept wherein an operating suite is integrated with a cath laboratory. The operating suite can be used for microsurgery as well as simultaneously for cerebrovascular intervention. This two-in-one operating room has the most sophisticated operating facility along with a miniaturized cerebral angiography suite. In the operating room itself angiography for the brain can be performed, for diagnosis, for tumor embolization, retrieval of a clot, to control bleeding, to study the blood flow, to deploy a stent and also to help the surgeons in preserving the normal blood vessel and also to control the bleeding during surgery. Here two operating teams can work together: one team can perform micro-surgery and simultaneously other teams can help assist, compliment, and treat through endovascular techniques. The main advantages are space utilization, the ability for both the teams to work, and complement each other especially in complex surgeries like highly vascular tumors, brain hemorrhage, aneurysm, and arteriovenous malformations.

COMPREHENSIVE AUDIOLOGY
The Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Department is staffed by skilled therapists who perform comprehensive hearing assessment, hearing aid evaluation and fitting, auditory training and speech reading, counseling and central auditory processing (CAP) testing. The ASLP unit also runs a state-of-the-art Cochlear Implant programme. It also perform newborn hearing screening and therapy for tinnitus
AUDIOVESTIBULAR TRAINING FOR COCHLEAR IMPLANTS
Rehabilitation therapy is necessary to maximize the benefits of the Cochlear Implant. The implantee is taught how to listen with the implant, and how to understand speech (and talk). These services are provided by audiologists, teachers, or speech language pathologists. The unit performs CI mapping and follow-up and speech perception test battery performed to assess unilateral CI progress and/or bilateral CI candidacy, as warranted.

VERTIGO CLINIC
At our vertigo center, we have the VNG (Video-nystagmography), cervical and ocular VEMPs (Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials) to assess inner ear function and help diagnose vestibular neuritis, BPPV, central vestibular disorders. Vestibular Rehabilitation is proven to be the most effective form of treatment for several forms of vestibular disorders. We perform maneuvers for BPPV and carry on personalized vestibular exercise programs.
VOICE & SPEECH CLINIC
The Voice Clinic’s mission is to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art evaluation and management of voice disorders. A Videostroboscopy is designed to assess the motion and pliability of the vocal folds for voice production. The analysis of voice may include acoustic and aerodynamic analysis. The unit conducts evaluations for the use of Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) devices for people with severe communication impairments. The center deals in the management of both functional and organic voice problems. We perform all kinds of phonosurgical techniques like laryngeal injection techniques, laryngoplasty, and phonomicrosurgery.

SWALLOWING & DYSPHAGIA CLINIC
The Dysphagia Clinic has been established to serve as both a research and instructional lab. The Laboratory will also supply the educational and clinical experience required by students striving to become Speech-Language Pathologists who treat individuals with swallowing disorders. The Dysphagia Lab is equipped with state of the art equipment to evaluate swallowing and to analyze temporal and biomechanical aspects of swallowing. We conduct assessments aimed at assisting individuals with swallowing difficulty, medically termed dysphagia. We offer Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS), also known as a video-fluoroscopic swallow study which is an instrumental procedure conducted by both the SLP and radiologist to assess the anatomy and physiology of the swallow mechanism. The test will evaluate which postural positions and consistencies are most appropriate, safest and tolerable for patients with swallowing difficulties.
ROOMS & SUITES
You will be provided the room type that you have requested for. You have a choice of the following room types: * Ultra deluxe single bedded room (available at select hospitals) * Single bedded room. The rooms are well furnished and are maintained at the highest standards of hygiene.
